Dylan Sailor Awarded Tenure

The Department is delighted to announce the promotion of Dylan Sailor to tenure.
Sailor received his PhD from Berkeley in 2002 and was Assistant Professor at UC San Diego for three years. In 2005 he returned to Berkeley as Assistant Professor of Classics, and as of July 1, 2008, he will be Associate Professor.
Sailor specializes in Latin prose authors, particularly historiography. His first book, Writing and Empire in Tacitus, will be published by Cambridge University Press in October 2008. For the past year he has been doing research on new projects while in residence at the American Academy in Rome as the recipient of a Rome Prize Fellowship.
