Kim Shelton Joins Regular Faculty

April 17, 2008

Dr. Kim Shelton has accepted an appointment as Assistant Professor of Classics.

Shelton has been with the Department and the Nemea Center for three years already, serving as Director of the latter while teaching in a temporary adjunct position within the Department. This year the Department was authorized to fill a 50% tenure-track position in classical archaeology and conducted a thorough search, as required by University policy. Shelton emerged as the top candidate.

This appointment solidifies the campus' commitment to her, and makes it possible for the Nemea Center and the Department to join with her in moving forward with plans for additional teaching and research activities at Nemea, including, we hope, a new period of intensive excavation.

For more information, see the Nemea Center web site.
